Five Favorite Summer Drinks

I love the fun Friday Five themes where we can talk about food, drink, summertime – all the fun stuff! Last week I totally missed the theme, because I was at Blogfest and kind of crazed with sessions and workouts, and didn’t have the chance to write on the theme. So this week I was determined – our theme is Favorite Summer Drinks. We all know how I love to hydrate for running and biking, but then also un-hydrate by drinking a nice big glass of wine. So pull up a chair, grab your favorite summer drink, and check out the Friday Five with You Signed Up For WHAT?!, Eat Pray Run, DC, and Mar on the Run!

Five Favorite Summer Drinks

Five Favorite Summer Drinks

1. Sparkling Water with a splash of juice. This is one of my favorite things to drink year-round, but mostly in the summer. I love sparkling water and will add a splash of something fruity to it. I got my husband a Sodastream for Christmas so that he could make his own tonic (for vodka tonics, of course!), and the bonus has been sparkling water for me whenever I want! I also love to any fizzy flavored water drink that I can get my hands on at the store or in a restaurant.

2. Wine. Winter, spring, summer, or fall… all you have to do is call, {vino}, and I’ll be there! Oh yes I will, you’ve got a friend. Okay, well maybe I’m a little nuts for wine, but I’ll just say that in summer I switch to white sometimes if it’s really hot.

OMG wine

3. Flavored waters. Separate from the sparkling water goodness of #1, I do add other flavors to my water in the form of the squeeze bottle flavorings, or buy flavored water all the time.

4. Fruity martinis. Did someone say pomegranate martini? I’ll take any fruity flavored martini, vodka preferred. With the sun shining on my face and a martini in my hand, life is good. Can you tell I’m dreaming of vacation in August?

5. SOS Rehydrate. Do you remember me gushing about SOS Rehydrate several months back? {Here’s where I gushed.} I’ve been using SOS in my running/triathlon training and racing for months and because I believe in it, I jumped on board as an Ambassador for Team Rehydrate when they started the program this month.

If you were to sneak a sip of what’s in my aerobottle at any bike ride or triathlon, you’d taste SOS! It has a focus on sodium and potassium, which has been perfect for hot summer races. I haven’t had any cramping or other issues during races and I’m loving it. If you want to check it out, you can use my link HERE. I get referral points that I can use to buy more SOS. Which I need.
